From Nepal, where Rajneesh Bhandari reports that about 1,000 police stations were damaged during the 10-plus year Maoist conflict. The Home Ministry tells Bhandari that the fiscal crisis has severely hampered rebuilding efforts.
Really the picture depicts a very pathetic situation.
I would be interested to hear from Nepalis about the situation with both the fire stations and the police stations. After all, these are not luxuries–I would think the government would try to find the funding. Any thoughts?
