Nepal’s Insecurity Complex

Posted on 15. Mar, 2010 by admin in Uncategorized, War on Terror

Increasing concerns about the security situation in Kathmandu have prompted the Indian embassy to strengthen its own security following reports this week that it has been targeted by the Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The embassy is located in one of the safest areas of the capital, but media mogul Jamim Shah was also in a “safe” area when he was gunned down last month.

The Pakistani terrorists are the latest worry–added to the resurgent Maoists, and assorted other breakaway Nepali groups–for both the media and others. Our correspondent Rajneesh Bhandari has this update for us from Kathmandu.
